At the European Youth Conference in Ljubljana, we explored pressing topics such as migration, AI, the economy, the climate crisis, animal rights, and the future of our educational system.
Following many thoughtful discussions, we approached these issues in a creative way. Mira collaborated with a colleague from Poland to write a powerful poem.
The first line was provided and the rest is a brilliant expression of the creativity and insight of these intelligent and inspiring young women:
Who is the artist when AI holds the brush?
Who is the artist when AI holds the brush?
A keyboard writing prompts is our pencil and paint
“Art always takes time”, say the artists in a rush
Weighed down by technology, they will soon collapse and faint.
Who is the musician when the conductor is a machine?
When the instruments are played by robots with exact precision
AI is calculating the orchestra’s theme.
We’re blindfolded, following its decision.
Who is the poet when the rhyme is just Zeros and Ones?
The words supposed to come from their mind are just existing on a screen.
We aim for uniqueness, but computers create everything more than once.
The real people’s inner thoughts are nowhere to be seen.
Where a painting was, a screen will be
Where a melody played, silence will be
Where a poem was written, a prompt will be
Where our information goes, no one knows
Where our creativity fails, AI prevails.
