“We tried to give you a normal life. I see now I have no idea what that is.” As it has gradually become our habit to visit English theaters during our leisure time, we resolved upon watching Next to Normal, an internationally known musical, with Ms Şeker at the end of the last school year. We met in front of Vienna’s English Theatre and after having taken some pictures as a memento, Ms. Şeker guided us to our seats. Subsequently, we waited with bated breath for the beginning of the performance and when the lights were turned off, we finally […]

On the 25th of February, Ms Seker, some other students from 7B and we spent our free time watching the play The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, which was being mounted in Don Bosco Haus. The most interesting aspect of the production was that it was performed solely by local students who rehearse regularly and act on an amateur basis, as they are members of the English Drama Club.
Our class and several other upper classes had the pleasure to see a renewed version of the play “Hamlet” on 21st December, which was the last day of school before the winter holidays started. We were accompanied by Ms. Şeker and some other teachers. After we had taken our seats, the lights went out and the play was about to start. When the curtains opened, we were able to get our very first impressions of what later would seem to be a masterpiece.
On Wednesday, September 7th, my class 7B went to the criminal court with our teachers Ms. Şeker and Ms. Sockel. First we had to choose between three different procedures: “drug abuse“, “burglary“ and “aggravated assault on purpose“. We decided for number three. Then we had to pass the security check. The courtroom we went in was the smallest one in the building. In the small room there were three lines of seats and in front of them the judge. He had three people sitting next to him: two lay judges and one woman who typed the statements of the parties […]
