How does a seed grow into a tree? How long does it take to germinate? What are the English words for this project?

Spooked! On Wednesday 19th February, all sixth and seventh graders of Erlgasse went to the English theatre to watch the play “Spooked”. The play is a modern version of Oscar Wilde’s “The Canterville Ghost”. The play is about Lord Canterville and he lives at Canterville Hall. His family has been living there for more than 600 years, but the man can’t pay his bills anymore and so he must sell his old mansion to Mrs Otis. The single mom and real estate agent Mrs Otis comes to Canterville Hall with her two kids, Washington and Virginia, because she wants to […]
From the 14th to the 20th of October the 7th grade explored Malta. Tuesday to Friday from 9 to 12 we attended a language school in Sliema, where we also lived with our host families. Not only studying was on our schedule, but also a lot of fun activites throughout the afternoons, where we got to know the Maltese life on a daily basis.
Thursday, Sept. 19th Having settled in after our arrival, we met Susanne. With her interesting and competent tour-guiding, she showed us sights of Trieste which were definitely worth visiting. For example, she showed us that Trieste consists of an older part on the hill and a younger one which was built on a manmade plateau, which was constructed due to the lack of space. Furthermore, we visited the cathedral of San Giusto which was built by merging two adjacent churches into one bigger one. After having a nice walk with great views over Trieste, we said goodbye to our tour […]
“We tried to give you a normal life. I see now I have no idea what that is.” As it has gradually become our habit to visit English theaters during our leisure time, we resolved upon watching Next to Normal, an internationally known musical, with Ms Şeker at the end of the last school year. We met in front of Vienna’s English Theatre and after having taken some pictures as a memento, Ms. Şeker guided us to our seats. Subsequently, we waited with bated breath for the beginning of the performance and when the lights were turned off, we finally […]
On April 11th, the class 4B was given the chance to visit the U.S. American Embassy in Vienna and to listen to a talk held by one of the Embassy’s diplomats. Before we got into the highly secured and luxurious building, all of us, including the teachers Ms Breitfuß and Ms Gassner had to go through a strict security check. There we had to show our identity cards and our bags and jackets were checked.
On the 25th of February, Ms Seker, some other students from 7B and we spent our free time watching the play The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, which was being mounted in Don Bosco Haus. The most interesting aspect of the production was that it was performed solely by local students who rehearse regularly and act on an amateur basis, as they are members of the English Drama Club.
